People have begun depositing firearms in the wake of the order issued this morning, a top police officer said. The officer said the arrests have been made in last two days but declined to give any figures.
"We have been studying the area where agitation is on. The terrain in Karwadi is difficult," he said adding that security forces were maintaining a tight vigil and gauging the situation.
Asked about the disruption in cellular phone services in the area, the officer said that some steps have been taken but did not go into details whether jamming devices have been used.
Newly-appointed Bharatpur SP, Rohit Mahajan, who is camping here, also said, "We are concerned about the situation and we want to make sure that there is no loss of human life and property."
