A Delhi Court trying the case has been repeatedly seeking her appearance before it. But her father recently told the court that he did not know where she was staying in London and that he did not remember the address of her friend at whose place he had met her recently.

Finding it hard to believe, the Supreme Court last week expressed anguish over her non-appearance in the case and warned her accused brothers not to take the judicial system for a ride. The court also took a dig at DP Yadav, saying, "It is very strange that the father does not know where the daughter is."

An address given on the fax purportedly sent by her from London to the trial court on Friday was contacted by a PTI reporter on Monday and a male voice said, "Bharti does not want to speak to the media." In the fax she had expressed her willingness to be examined through video conference or by court commission.

The person, who identified himself as Nahal, confirmed that she had sent the fax.

The fax had the address of one GS Nahal at Middlesex.
