BHS & GHS emerge champs in swimming
ON THE first day of the three-day cultural festival, Alfresco-2006, Boys' High School (BHS) and College and Girls' High School (GHS) and College, emerged as champions in the swimming competition held here on Wednesday. The finals for the boys category were held at the BHS, while for the girls, it was held at the GHS.

The finals for the boys category were held at the BHS, while for the girls, it was held at the GHS.
In the boys category, 16 boys from three schools, including the host took part.
The other schools which took part in the swimming competition were St Fidelis College, Lucknow and Air Force School, Bamrauli.
BHS swimmers represented by Sean Tanu Dwijendra, Rajul Singh, Shashank Shekhar Saxena, Vaibhav Chitransh, Anagat Tripathi and Naveen Chandra swam ahead of others in all categories namely, 50 m freestyle, 100 m freestyle, 50 m butterfly, 50 m backstroke, 50 m breaststroke, while BHS scored 70 points to its credit. St Fidelis College had to remain content with only five points while Air Force School could not open its account.
GHS swimmers represented by Taruna Nishad, Mamta Yadav, Shubhangi Tripathi, Shubhra Singh, Arpita Bhargava, Priyanka Malhotra bagged the first place by scoring 70 points to their credit, while Crosthwaite Girls' College swimmers were placed in the second place with 20 points to their credit. The other schools namely, St John's Academy and St Fidelis College could not open their account.

50 M Freestyle: Sean Tanu Dwijendra-I, Rahul Singh-II (Both BHS).
100 M Freestyle: Rajul Singh-I (BHS), Leon Chung-II (SFC).
50 M Butterfly: Sean Tanu Dwijendra-I, Shashank Shekhar Saxena-II (Both BHS),
50 M Backstroke: Vaibhav Chitransh-I, Anagat Tripathi-II (Both BHS),
50 M Breaststroke: Rajul Singh-I, Naveen Chandra-II (Both BHS).
Girls' category
100 M Freestyle: Taruna Nishad-I, Mamta Yadav-II (Both GHS).
50 Breaststroke: Shubhangi Tripathi-I, Mamta Yadav-II (Both GHS).
50 M Backstroke: Sadaf Gul-I (CGC), Taruna Nishad-II (GHS).
50 M Butterfly: Taruna Nisahd-I, Shubhangi Tripathi-II (both GHS),
50 M Freestyle: Taruna Nishad-I (GHS), Amita Nishad-II (CGC),
4 x 50 M freestyle relay: GHS (Taruna Nishad, Shubhangi Tripathi, Mamta Yadav, Arpita Bhargava)-I, CGC (Amita Nishad, Sadaf Gul, Ritu Nishad, Anjali)-II.
