Security forces foiled an attempt by terrorists plan to set off blasts in hospital foiled to set off blasts at sub-district hospital Beerwah and Agriculture department in Kishtwar, while a Border Security Force (BSF) jawan was injured in a grenade attack in Badgam district of Jammu and Kashmir on Friday, a police spokesman said.

Bomb disposal squad managed to defuse a live grenade found lying in the compound of sub district hospital Beerwah in Badgam district of central Kashmir this afternoon, the spokesman said.

Experts also managed to neutralise an improvised explosive device (IED) weighing about two and a half kg that was detected lying wrapped in a polythene bag in the compound of Agriculture department Kishtwar in Doda district on Friday, the spokesman said.

A BSF jawan was injured when terrorists plan to set off blasts in hospital foiled, hurled a grenade towards a patrolling party at Lalad in Sopore, Baramulla district on Friday, the spokesman said.

He said the injured jawan was hospitalised and a hunt has been launched to nab the militants involved in the attack.

Meanwhile, a civilian identified as Kuldeep Singh who was critically wounded by militants with a sharp edged weapon at Sarsai in Doda district on Thursday, succumbed to injuries in the hospital on Friday morning.

Singh was left with deep injuries by militants after he raised an alarm while being taken to unknown destination by the terrorists who had abducted him from his house in the village Sarsai, the spokesman said.
