The Enterprise Showcase will be held on Wednesday (March 1, 2006) in the Students Union Hall at Thames Valley University in Ealing. The free event will feature presentations, question times and activities by great business visionaries and leaders.
All current TVU students will be encouraged to attend. It will be held from 10 am to 1 pm.
The winner of the first series of The Apprentice, Tim Campbell, will be among a panel of high flying former Thames Valley University (TVU) students inspiring the next generation of entrepreneurs at a special university event.
The host of the Enterprise Showcase is TVU Chancellor Karan Bilimoria (CBE DL) "the UK's youngest university chancellor".
Bilimoria is founder and chief executive of Cobra Beer and is recognised as one of the UK's brightest and most innovative entrepreneurs. Bilimoria will give his inaugural annual Chancellor's Lecture at the event.
Bilimoria said, "We are very fortunate that TVU has produced so many people who are beacons of enterprising excellence. Since becoming Chancellor I have been greatly impressed by the range of enterprise activities that routinely occur at the University. I am sure you will appreciate the opportunity that the showcase allows to hear from staff, students and businesses based at TVU who are pushing forward the enterprise agenda."
Campbell studied at TVU before going on to win the BBC's 2005 Apprentice series.
He will be joined in a Question Time session by former TVU students. These include:
David Riley, managing director of the hugely successful Mandeville Recruitment Group and Chris Galvin, founder and managing director of the acclaimed Galvin restaurant in London.
Professor David Jones, TVU pro-vice chancellor and dean of the Faculty of Professional Studies, will give a presentation about the Enterprise Agenda at TVU.
