Hundreds of party workers led by Bistupur block president Suranjan Rai chased away labourers engaged in the construction work and sat on a dharna at the site demanding a CBI enquiry into the multi-crore money laundering scam involving Koda.

We will not allow the construction work to go on till the case is handed over to CBI, Rai told newsmen.

He demanded the state government should keep the land under its possession till the case was disposed of.

BJP leader threatened to continue the agitation in all the sites owned by Koda or his associates, including Sanjay Chowdhury and Vinod Sinha, in and around the steel city.

A police officer said as the protestors did not procure any prior permission to stage protests, they were asked to withdraw the agitation.

The agitators left after lodging a token protest, he added.
