The agitation was led by district president of the party Rakesh Sonkar while senior leaders including former minister and party MLA Satish Mahana, MLA Salil Bishnoi, former MPs Jagatveer Singh Drone and Shyam Bihari Mishra and others were also present on the occasion.

The procession started from Shikshak Park and after traversing though several areas of the city, reached the DM’s office. A public meeting was also organised on the occasion.

Addressing the gathering, BJP leaders held the State government responsible for manifold increase in the prices of essential commodities.

“An inflation of 200 - 300 per cent has been registered in the prices of green vegetables and 90 per cent in the price of rice and wheat,” stated Salil Bishnoi.

The issue of LPG shortage in the city was also raised by the BJP leaders.

“Artificial crisis of LPG has been created in the city by the district supply office and despite repeated reminders the district administration has done nothing to resolve this crisis,” stated Mahana.
