The BJP supporter, N Rajeesh (25), who is an autorickshaw driver, was asked for a trip to a nearby place by the alleged miscreants. They then waylaid Rajeesh and stabbed his legs and hands. One of his fingers got severed in the attack, police said.

Rajeesh was rushed to a hospital in Thalassery and later shifted to Kozhikode Medical College Hospital.

Senior police officials are camping in the area, police said.
