These leaders, particularly Singh and Sinha, were upset that they were not given any position in the BJP parliamentary party. Leader of Opposition L K Advani had appointed Sushma Swaraj as his deputy leader in the House.

What irked them further was that Arun Jaitely was made Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha. They had written letters to party chief Rajnath Singh, questioning these appointments and why no responsibility had been fixed for the Lok Sabha poll debacle.

Interestingly, one of the leaders, probably Jaswant Singh, will become chairman of the PAC, which will entitle him a room in Parliament House. He had to surrender his room he held as Leader of Opposition of Rajya Sabha, a post he held till his election to the Lok Sabha from Darjeeling.
