The Pondicherry unit of the Bharatiya Janata party (BJP) suffered yet another setback when the General Secretary of the women's wing along with a few others quit the party on Thursday.

Meena Vijayakumar in a statement said in Pondicherry that she along with women's wing secretary Pattu and Nellithoppe constituency president Poornima Sharma had quit from the primary membership of the party.
Meena alleged that Lalitha Kumaramangalam, who was appointed as the election in-charge for Pondicherry, was not giving any considerations to the women's wing and protesting against this "ill treatment" they quit the party.
The lone BJP legislator AM Krishnamurty had earlier quit the party and joined the AIADMK.
