BJS activists also took out similar protest rally in Indore and staged a demonstration in front of a Reliance Fresh outlet at Palasia square.
Security was beefed up as the BJS workers took out a rally in the state capital and staged a demonstration at Shahjahani Park protesting the start of Reliance Fresh outlets in the state.
Alleging that the retail outlets were ruining businesses of small traders and vegetable vendors, the demonstrators tried to put locks on one of the stores.
The protesters also ransacked furniture at the store, but no case was registered yet.
Nobody has come forward to lodge a formal complaint yet. Action will be taken if any complaint is received, Bhopal Superintendent of Police Jaideep Prasad said.
