BL to hold prize distribution today
THE BRITISH Library will organise on Sunday a programme to distribute prizes to the winners of various competitions organised recently in the library.
THE BRITISH Library will organise on Sunday a programme to distribute prizes to the winners of various competitions organised recently in the library.
The programme would be organised from at 5:30 pm in the library. Dr V Vijayalakshmi, Assistant Commissioner, Kendriya Vidyalaya, will present the prizes to the winners. The competitions were held on the occasion of the World Book Day.
The library has also organised ‘Fiction delight—An exhibition of contemporary and popular fiction’ starting from Sunday, the last day of the membership offers at reduced rates.
Meanwhile, a chain of competitive events was held today. Children from various schools spoke about their aspirations regarding facilities and services in the libraries in future. Rakesh Dixit, Bureau Chief, Hindustan Times, and Dr Arundhati Chattopadhyaya were the judges for the competition.
More than 20 children participated in the event. The children spoke on ‘My Future Library’. British Library had organised a number of events for schoolchildren to encourage the reading habit amongst children and help them test their skills in reading, writing and speaking, according to a press release issued on Saturday.
