?Book them under SC/ST Act?

Students rallying behind Sanjay Kumar Singh, inmate of Hindu Hostel, raised slogans at the Colonelganj police station demanding action against Pawan Rai, another inmate of the same hostel, under the SC/ST Act. Sanjay was allegedly thrashed, bullied and abused by Rai and his friends the other day on the hostel premises.

Sanjay, living in room No 49 of Hindu Hostel, has also sought protection from Rai and his friends who have allegedly threatened him with dire consequences the other day at pistol point. In a written complaint to the Inspector Colonelganj police station Sanjay said, the threat to him was the outcome of a complaint to the hostel authorities which he had made against Rai.

He alleged that Rai had been in the habit of coming to hostel late in the night and creating noisy scenes in the varandah along with some anti-social elements who often accompany him. Following his complaint Rai along with his associates forcibly pulled him out of his room and tried to take him to another room. He was continuously subjected to thrashing all the while.

When Sanjay's friends came to his rescue Rai's associates took out a pistol and threatened them with dire consequences. Meanwhile, other inmates of the hostel taking offensive at this brazen and threatening act of Rai and his friends chased them away.

While running for safety after seeing the angry mood of the hostellers against them Rai and his friends fell down and sustained injuries. Though, they managed to escape but since then they have been threatening Sanjay with dire consequences. Fearing attack, Sanjay made the complaint to the police.
