Booming of a business!
Shopping Malls are becoming the graveyard of the business for the shopkeepers who do not check the Feng Shui, writes Mohan Deep.
Last week elated me with its success stories. I received seven instances of people who had benefited from my Feng Shui consultation.

The most dramatic was the case of a US based businessman Kevin Brown. He was heading for a financial disaster when he contacted me about a year ago. Now he writes, "I am out of the problems. I have a solid distribution network, an identity in the market and I am glad to say, we are making big money."
Brown owned a unit, based in USA, manufacturing electric switches and other accessories that go into switching on the power. He also liaised with the companies that produced cables and other products necessary for this business. The products were aesthetically made and bulk orders were immediate on the stalls of various shows and exhibitions.
"But the problem is with distributors. Typically, they feign indifference to my brand, and accept the products as a sort of `favour`, on credit. They would sit on the money, avoid further orders and give vague answers about accounts. Naturally, the customer would grumble seeing that we didn't have any presence in his neighborhood. For replacing one defective switch, they were forced to replace the entire switch board and all the switches as ours didn't match the look and sometimes even the size of the more popular brands!" Brown gave me a detailed account of the problems he was facing.
Somehow, despite hard work and team efforts they are incurring losses and facing several problems. They were totally dependent on another maker who bought from them and resold their product as his brand. Their distribution was very weak partly because of this very person. In one word, it is a total mess.
Naturally, all the distributors were not like this. But the complaints from another distributor were that "our products were not moving fast" and were occupying `precious space he could use for other fast moving products`. Another distributor's gripe was that "we were not a famous brand and we didn't have an identity in the market". Yet, another said "we didn't have a glamorous image for the better class of architects and interior decorators to patronize us for large, beautiful houses despite being a little more expensive than the others".
Brown sent me a diagram of his office and unit.
I returned to him with my usual Feng Shui suggestions. It turned out that he wasn't in position to implement them. I had asked him to place a fish tank in the Money corner and had suggested an alternate in a water fountain.
He wrote back, "Mine is a business where everyone is on the move. There is virtually no one to maintain a fish tank or water fountain. Often, all of us are out chasing business, managing stalls in shows, attending to customer's complaints or selling our electric items - and even the office boys would be out to deliver things - or on telephone too busy to maintain the office. Can you suggest an alternative that doesn't need maintenance and is equally effective?"
The answer was staring at me from my easel. The painting I had named aqua-bamboo series! I also suggested two other paintings, the Phoenix and the Dragon. One was for building a brand identity and the other for getting the Helpful Friends and Patronage. These paintings worked like a charm.
Among the other six stories, three persons unemployed at the time of consultation got coveted jobs within weeks (or months). Getting a job may not appear as a windfall to those already settled in secure jobs, looking for `magic` in Feng Shui. But think of the joy of getting an appointment order after remaining unemployed for long, bearing taunts from a spouse or tolerating endless sermons and self-righteous
`I-told-You-So` from well meaning parents and rich relatives.
"It is a relief," declared Kerman and added, "My wife had a job and I had become a dependent. I would feel guilty even about wanting an extra piece of egg sandwich! Of course, she didn't say ANYTHING. The superiority was visible."
In another case, Rosemary told me, "My in-laws have treated me like a bloody beggar after I lost my job. I had a highly paid job in a major business house and this job was my `qualification` when I got married. My status changed as I lost the job. Mind you, I wasn't to blame for losing the job. I had not failed. The company was not doing well so they had to shut down some outlets. Thanks to you and your Feng Shui I got my self respect, my status back. Now, I am an earning member of the family and a little more wise. I know the true colors of my relatives and my in-laws and now I am a little bitter about it."
I do not blame Rosemary for feeling bitter but Feng Shui is all about being positive. Forget the bitter, bad experiences like you forget the bad dreams.
Another, very interesting case is of a client of mine who was in a mess after purchasing a shop in a shopping mall. This shop, which cost him all his savings and then some loan was not doing one tenth the business he used to do in his regular shop in a dinghy building.
Shopping Malls are becoming the graveyard of the business for the shopkeepers who do not check the Feng Shui of their shops. But about his success story, the next week…
