Brother-in-law kills sister-in-law

The concerned brother-in-law killed his sister-in-law, when she refused physical favour to him, reports Kiran Sonawane.

In a bizarre incident in Ambernath a brother-in-law killed his sister-in-law, when she refused physical favour.

This incident took place at Umiya Krupa Apartment, near Hari Om Park, B-cabin road, Ambernath (E) PI Ramchandra Aher, investigation officer, Ambernath Police station told.

Megha Ganpat Baanger (27), resided at Umiya Apartment, with her husband Deepak (29), brother-in-law Ashok (19) and one year son Soham.

Deepak, an electrician, worked at an Andheri based company. Megha was a teacher at Bombay Municipal School at Bhandup and Ashok (19) was pursuing a course in ITI (Industrial Technical Institutes).

Accused Ashok Ganpat Baanger was always after her sister-in-law. He used to convey his sexual desires to her. Megha tried to convince him that he waslike a younger brother to her and that he wasn't doing the right thing.

She also told this to her husband Deepak. After getting to know this Deepak sent his brother to their native place a few months back.

But two months back, Deepak brought him back, after hepromised to behave properly. Megha also accepted the fact and forget the past incident.

But a few days back Ashok start behaving in the same manner once again. Megha told her husband about it. Her husband, Deepak scolded him and gave him a warning.

However, on the 18th of October 2006, when Deepak went to office and Megha was alone in the house with her one-year-old son, Ashok tried to force herinto sex. When Megha refused Ashok thought his sister-in-law would report the whole incident to his brother.

So he decided to kill Megha. He strangled Megha with his hands and told the police that his sister-in-lawcommitted suicide.

Later the medical report revealed the truth. After the arrival of the medical report the police called the whole Baanger family for interrogation. Initially, the accused Ashok refrained from telling the details and Megha's relatives also didn't suspect anyone was behind her death.

But when Deepak, Megha's husband, informed the police about the past incidents, police speeded the interrogation. After many sessions of interrogation Ashok accepted his crime.

Police has arrested accused Ashok Ganpat Baanger and filed the offence against him under IPC 301, 201.
