BSP leader's murder: Delhi Police detain three men

The Delhi Police have rounded up three persons of Jind town in the murder of Deepak Bhardwaj, a Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) leader, here on Tuesday night.

The Delhi Police have rounded up three persons of Jind town in the murder of Deepak Bhardwaj, a Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) leader, here on Tuesday night.

Om Singh Balhara, deputy superintendent of police (DSP), Jind, said: "The Delhi Police raided Baxi Mohalla of Jind town and recovered a Santro used in the crime. They detained three persons from the house of one Narender Kumar."

Those arrested have been identified as Virender, a resident of Jhajjar district, Dharmbir and Anil, both residents of Hisar district. Balhara said the raiding team was led by assistant sub-inspector (ASI) Gyanender and ASI Birbal from the Jind police.

Bhardwaj, who had declared his assets worth Rs 600 crore in the 2009 Lok Sabha polls, was shot at his farm house in New Delhi on Tuesday.
