National president of ‘BSP’ Omprakash Rajbhar held the state government responsible for adopting a partial attitude towards the people of eastern Uttar Pradesh. “The wrong policy of the state government is responsible for the prevailing power crisis in eastern Uttar Pradesh’, he said, adding, “Power generation units of Sonebhadra and Tanda generate 1200 mw.”
“If the state government ensures 400 mw power supply out of power production of 1200 mw to east UP, the problem of power in this region would be solved”, he said and alleged that electricity, which is being produced in east UP, being supplied to western UP, Ghaziabad and Saifai.
He urged the state government to ensure free power supply to the farmers in Uttar Pradesh like had been done by the Punjab government.
Citing the data of dalit members on prominent posts, Rajbhar said these people were enjoying quota facility whereas there were a large number of poor people belonging to other castes. He advocated that reservation policy should be based on economic status.
Rajbhar assured the members of Mallah community that ‘BSP’ will take care of the interests of Mallah community in case it came to power in Uttar Pradesh.
Later, speaking to mediapersons, Rajbhar said ‘BSP’ was contemplating to contest on 53 Assembly segments in the forthcoming Assembly election in UP. “I will take up this matter before the alliance partner Congress in a meeting, scheduled to be held on December 8”, he added.
