There was no casualty in the blaze as the party office was closed. However, a cooler and the door were damaged as six fire tenders were engaged to bring the flames under control, SSP Akhil Kumar and District Magistrate R Ramesh Kumar said.

The two officials were present at the incident site when the party office was opened in the presence of local BSP workers late Thursday night. Ramesh Kumar said the fire was due to short circuit and denied reports that there was any attack on the party office. Kumar, however, said a forensic probe will be conducted.
