Burglars break into SBI in Valsad, flee with Rs 11 lakh

Burglars broke into the strong room of a nationalised bank and looted Rs 11.76 lakh cash in Dungri village some 12 km from from Valsad on Monday, police said.

Burglars broke into the strong room of a nationalised bank and looted Rs 11.76 lakh cash in Dungri village some 12 km from from Valsad on Monday, police said.

According to police, when the guard State Bank of India (SBI), Dungri branch, came in the morning he found the front door of the bank broken.

He also saw that strong room of the banks was also open, they added.

Police said that the burglars may have broken into the bank sometime in the night and escaped with the money.

Finger prints and other samples have been collected from the bank premises, police said, adding that a case had been registered and further investigation in the matter was on.
