Canada will send another $17 million in aid to help the victims of an earthquake in Pakistan in October 2005, officials have announced.

The Canadian International Development Agency will distribute the funds through three United Nations relief agencies for food and shelter, to help affected children and farmers, and boost reconstruction efforts, officials said on Tuesday.
Canada had already provided some $49 million in humanitarian aid to the devastated region.
An earthquake on October 8 killed more than 73,000 people in Pakistan and 1,300 in India.
