The three-day Global Meet of the Syro Malabar church, to be held here from Aug 18, would discuss various issues vexing the Indian catholic community living abroad.

This is the first time such a meet is being organised for the followers of the church outside the country as they had expressed a feeling of being 'delinked' from their traditions and faith, announced Church spokesman, Father Paul Thelekkat.

The church will hear their problems and help them find solutions at the meet. The meet would also give them an opportunity to get 'connected' to their 'mother church', Father Thelekkat said.

Bishop Gregory Karotemprail, Bishop of Rajkot is organising the meet, which will be presided by Stephen Hamao, President of the Pontifical Council of Migrants and Itinerants.
