BJP local unit chief SP Damodaran told newsmen in Puducherry that already some officials of the Slum Clearance Board have come under CBI scanner in identification of the beneficiaries of the subsidies for housing project.

Around Rs 44 crore had been distributed under subsidies covering around 47000 beneficiaries. But bonafides of the applicants should be established through a broad based probe by CBI, he said alleging that there were also several discrepancies in implementation of the free rice scheme in Puducherry.
