CBI raids construction company official; 40 lakhs recovered

CBI recovered Rs 40 lakhs and some gold, among other items from the house of a construction company official in Ghaziabad, following which the accused was taken into three-day CBI custody.

A team of Cental Bureau of Investigation (CBI) from Dehradun raided the house of S C Sharma, Zonal Manager of National Projects Construction Corporation Limited (NPCC) and also searched his bank accounts and recovered Rs 40 lakh and gold worth Rs 6 lakh and some documents.

"Three persons, including the main accused Sharma, were arrested and later produced before the magistrate who sent two in judicial custody," SHO Indirapuram Rajesh Dwedi said.

He said Sharma was sent into CBI custody for three days for further investigation.

CBI denied to divulge further details except that they raided the house on a complaint against the accused of taking bribe from some one.
