CBI submits status report on J&K sex racket case

The High Court which was supposed to hear the case on Monday deferred the hearing for Tuesday.

The Central Bureau of Investigation probing the sex racket case in Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday submitted a status report before the state High Court in Srinagar, which has set Friday as the next date of hearing of the case.

The CBI submitted its status report which among other things also showed the arrest of two former state ministers Ghulam Ahmad Mir and Raman Mattoo before the court, monitoring the investigations in the case.

Asserting that the investigations will continue, the CBI came up with the status report during the hearing of proceedings held in camera by the division bench comprising justice Hakim Imtyaz Hussain and BA Kirmani.

The High Court which was supposed to hear the case on Monday deferred the hearing for Tuesday.

No reasons were given by the counsels appearing for the CBI and bar magistrate MY Akhoon deferred the hearing till Friday.
