The probe agency is taking ahead its multi-crore Saradha scam investigation focusing on Swarup’s marriage ceremony where an estimated Rs. 3 crore was spent.
The CBI after interrogating Madan in their custody and in jail became sure that the minister was passing the buck to his son regarding the expenditure of the marriage reception that was held at PC Chandra Garden last year.
The CBI, after examining the income details of Madan Mitra and his wife Archana Mitra, found that the couple’s total income during 2010-2011 was Rs. 8,65,077. Now the CBI wants to know the income and assets of Swarup Mitra, who according to the minister borne the maximum expenditure of his wedding reception.
