A fast track court on Friday framed charges against JD(U) MP from Maharajganj Prabhunath Singh in connection with the killing of two persons at Panapur village in Siwan district during Assembly elections in 1995.

Additional and Sessions Judge Shambu Mishra framed the charges against Singh and seven other accused in the case.

Rajendera Rai and Daroga Rai were killed and Srimati Devi was injured by alleged indiscriminate firing by Prabhunath Singh and seven others in a booth at Panapur during Assembly elections on August 23, 1995.

Singh, a JD(U) MP now, was contesting the poll as Bihar People's Party nominee at that time.
