Bhagat denounced the two-day dharna by Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal and rest of the Cabinet and said he was "ashamed" that they had resorted to such an action.

"They are in a hurry ahead of the Lok Sabha polls. They want instant attention, just like the Indian movie industry, where an actress becomes an item girl when she can't make it big. They have become the item girls of Indian politics and item girls do not go very far," he added.

"The AAP has really, really let me down. I feel so let down by their antics. The cost-benefit analysis of this just does not add up," Bhagat told NDTV.

The author of books such as Five Point Someone and Two States said the AAP had "brought the capital to a standstill, demoralised the police force and depressed business sentiment through his two-day stir".
