The official application launched by the chief minister and minister-incharge for Information Technology Raman Singh will furnish the reports and information related to the important day-to-day activities of the state government, its various policies, schemes, decisions along with the photos and video footages.

“In today’s digital world, the use of mobile apps have become more robust. The ‘Chhattisgarh Jansampark’ app will communicate updated information about the government’s programme, events, declarations, official orders and the cabinet’s decisions”, the CM said and further added the initiative will strengthen better governance and greater transparency in administration.

The mobile app has been designed by Chhattisgarh InfoTech & Biotech Promotion Society (ChiPS), a nodal agency to foster IT growth and implement IT plans in the state. The app can be downloaded free in any smartphone by clicking here.

The director of public relation department Rajat Kumar told HT that the app will also have an archive - a sort of history document - consisting of all government-related information of the previous ten years and will be expanded further.

The Chhattisgarh government has been vigorously incorporating the use of digital technology. Earlier, the state bagged the national e-governance award (Gold) 2014-15 for innovative use of geographic information technology.

The principal secretary to the CM and the IT department Aman Singh, has envisioned the technology-driven medium for the state government through interactive people-centric platform -- chief minister's own website. “Mobile app is our latest initiative to connect with the people to update them with the news, plan, schemes and other updates of the government”, Aman Singh said.

Besides the official website, the other means like Facebook and Twitter are being used by the public relation department to share information about the government schemes and development programmes.
