City girl selected for civil services

Daughter of a doctor couple, Rukmani completed her schooling from Saint Anthony's Convent College. She had topped in High School examination in 1993 in girls' category. Though she made several attempts to make her career in medicine but could not get the desired results. She completed her BA in 1993 with Hindi, Philosophy and Ancient History as subjects.
She opted History for civil services preliminary examination while Hindi and Philosophy were two subjects for main examination. She told HT Allahabad Live that she spent 10 hours on studies daily. " As I am placed 144th in merit probably I will get the Indian Revenue Service. Therefore globalisation and taxation would be two biggest challenges before her", she said.
