A police complaint was lodged on Tuesday against Sajjal Chakravarty, director of the State Institute of Rural Development (SIRD), by the deputy director of the institute Nand Kishore Mishra.

While both are IAS officers, Chakravarty is an accused in a multi-million-rupee fodder scam.

Mishra accused Chakravarty of slapping him at the office and detaining his sister-in-law. He alleged that he lost his hearing capacity after the assault.

According to Chakravarty, he slapped Mishra for entering the office in an inebriated condition a fortnight ago.
