The rally culminated into a meeting at Subhash Crossing in Civil Lines where the bottles of Pepsi and Coke were crushed by an elephant.

Addressing the meeting, ABA national convenor Prof Banwari Lal Sharma said Pepsi and Coke should quit India, or else they would have to face waves of protests by citizens.

The rally in Allahabad was part of a nationwide protest that the ABA organised on Tuesday.

The activists passed a resolution, calling for cancellation of the licence of the companies.

A request was made to the President to intervene in the matter to save the health of children and the environment.

The rally was supported by students and senior citizens.
