According to Hollywood.com, Gibson went on an anti-Semitic tirade after he was arrested for drunk driving.

But he said in a statement: "Please know from my heart I am not an anti-Semite. I am not a bigot. Hatred of any kind goes against my faith."

But Reiner, who is Jewish, is certain that Gibson is anti-Semitic and that his movie The Passion of the Christ is proof.
