The party also underlined the need to revamp and revitalize the Indian Overseas Congress.
"Indian origin business abroad is providing impetus for foreign direct investment into India, making our country the second most sought after investment destination after China," said the party in a draft resolution on "external security and international affairs".
It noted the conspicuously growing reach and clout of Indian diaspora, reflected in persons of Indian origin getting elected and selected to high public offices in major democracies.
The resolution said the importance Indian give to persons of Indian origin will "undoubtedly give us distinct advantages in centres of political power and commercial hubs across the world".
