The ‘unknown’ beggar was found unconscious near Dhanbad main post office which is located next to the Dhanbad police station. The police, instead taking him to hospital, sent him directly to a postmortem house.

Incidentally, the staff at the postmortem house noticed that the person was alive and informed the officer-in-charge of the police station.

The police then, grasping the sensitivity of the matter, called an ambulance. Unfortunately, the person in the crux of the fiasco, died on Tuesday afternoon due an unknown medical problem.

However, the Dhanbad police was not aware of his death either till late in the evening.
