A COUPLE was burnt in suspicious circumstances in Koh-e-Fiza on Monday night. The condition of both of them is reported to be critical.

According to police, Nazima (35) and her husband Sarvar were admitted to the hospital with severe burns. Nazima alleged that her mother-in-law Saeeda, sister-in-law Farhat and other family members excluding husband set her on fire.

Her husband reportedly got burnt while trying to save her. However, Sarvar said that Nazima poured kerosene on self and burnt herself. She attempted suicide following a domestic dispute, he added.

The police have registered a case of attempt to murder against the in-laws on the basis of Nazima’s statement.
Her condition is reported to be critical. Sarvar, who is a minibus driver, is also quite serious.

The duo has an eight-year-old son. The cause of dispute is not yet known.
Police are interrogating the family members in this regard.
