Court asks Kolkata Police to arrest Mamata

The court also directed the police to arrest Mamata and some others by February 27 in a case of violence during a political meeting in 1994.

Kolkata Police was on Saturday directed by a district court to arrest Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee.

The court also directed the police to arrest Mamata and some others by February 27 in a case of violence during a political meeting in 1994.

Barasat Chief Judicial Magistrate Siddharta Roy Chowdhury took umbrage on a report by Deputy Commissioner of Kolkata Police expressing his inability to arrest Banerjee. He directed that the warrant of arrest be forwarded to the Kolkata Police again for execution.
