Party National Secretary D Raja asked why Ramesh chose a foreign soil to air his views about an internal issue when he had enough fora in the country to express his opinions.

"Why did he choose a foreign land (China) to air his views? He could have expressed his opinions in Parliament or while he was here (India)," Raja said.

He said Ramesh could have raised the issue during the debate in Rajya Sabha on the Green Tribunal Bill.

"That would have been a right forum to raise such kind of issues, not a foreign soil. Why should he raise the issues in China?" Raja asked.

The CPI MP also said the Prime Minister must explain Ramesh's actions.

The Prime Minister today reprimanded Ramesh for his comments in Beijing that the Home Ministry was "overly defensive" and "alarmist" in its approach towards entry of Chinese companies in India.
