CPI leader here Viswanathan told newsmen on Monday that delay in desilting the estuaries in coastal belt were adding to the woes of the people living in low lying areas. The government did not have necessary dredging machines and no funds were earmarked for the legislators to take up works under Area Development programmes, he alleged.
