The Communist Party of India (Marxist) on Monday brought out five booklets lambasting the five-year regime of the Y S Rajasekhara Reddy-led Congress government in Andhra Pradesh.
“This is the first set of booklets we are publishing against the Congress government. In all, 17 booklets will be brought ahead of the elections to expose the ruling party,” CPI(M) state secretary B V Raghavulu told reporters after releasing the booklets in Hyderabad.
In the first booklet, the party has highlighted the “anti-farmer” policies of the State government; in the second it listed how the Congress “cheated” the youth with the promise of creating jobs; the third book has alleged the government of weakening the public sector and jeopardising the future of thousands of employees; the fourth exposed the “lopsided” urban development policies while the fifth has presented a critical analysis of the various programmes launched by the state government in the last five years.
Raghavulu said: “The Congress always claimed theirs is a ‘farmer-friendly´ government but the SEZ policy itself exposed its dubious nature. Thousands of acres of fertile lands were forcibly taken away from hapless farmers in the name of SEZs, thereby depriving them of their livelihood”.
He said a special booklet would soon be brought out to expose the deep-rooted corruption in the government.
