Officials of crime branch visited the accident spot and took evidneces. Forensic experts also visited the Pullmedu area where the mishap occured on Friday night, official sources said.

Besides, the crime branch probe, Kerala government had also decided to hold a judicial enquire into the worst religious mishap that claimed lives of Ayyappa devotees who were returning after darshan at Lord Ayyappa temple at Sabariala on Mandalavilaku day on January 14.

Initial reports had stated that a minor accident involving a jeep and autorickshaw lead to a commotion tirggering the stampade.
