Daya Nayak seeks anticipatory bail
'Encounter specialist' Daya Nayak on Monday moved the Bombay High Court seeking anticipatory bail.
The Anti-Corruption Bureau has registered a case against him and his wife Komal for allegedly amassing wealth disproportionate to his known sources of income.
ACB has booked Nayak under the Prevention of Corruption Act and his wife Komal for connivance, after an open inquiry instituted into the assets acquired by Nayak allegedly revealed that he possessed assets worth over Rs 40 lakh, that was 212 per cent more than his income sources, ACB said.
The high-profile encounter specialist, who has more than 50 killings of underworld gangsters under his belt, is absconding, the ACB had alleged, while senior Mumbai Police officials have said that Nayak was availing of a sanctioned leave.
