District development commissioner (DDC) Reasi, Shabir Ahmad Bhatt, on Saturday visited remote areas of district, including Arnas, Dharmari, Thoru and Chinkah and took stock of the restoration of damaged public utilities and services, besides rehabilitation of people affected due to the recent floods and rains in these areas.

The DDC while interacting with the affected people and the members of the Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs) said that the administration is fully aware of their problems who have suffered losses due to recent flash floods and rains. He assured that every possible help will be extended to the victims of the flash floods for their proper rehabilitation.
Later on in a meeting with officers of various departments at Dharmari, he called upon the officers to maintain transparency in the distribution of financial assistance among the affected families. Besides ensuring its timely disbursement, he directed the concerned departments to accelerate the efforts for the restoration of essential services.
At Arnas, the executive engineer, power development department (PDD), was directed to restore power supply to the affected areas on priority basis and wherever required, alternate arrangements must be put in place.
