With Taste Of Mumbai, Holi and Easter around the corner, foodies have enough and more to keep their plates full this time of the year. And now there’s more to be added to their culinary servings. The chance to enjoy three-course meals at some of the city’s top restaurants — including some pretty expensive ones — for Rs 1,000 and Rs 1,200 (excluding taxes, for lunch and dinner respectively) is back. Starting April 1, Citibank Restaurant Week India kicks off in Mumbai, Delhi and Bengaluru simultaneously. And unlike the last edition, when the event lasted all of seven days, it will continue for 10 days, till April 10, this time around.

“Last year, we did business of over R1 crore across Mumbai, Delhi and Bengaluru, and saw more than 8,000 people participate in the matter of a week. This year, we’re hoping to double the business and get at least 12,000 people make the most of the event,” says Nachiket Shetye, director of Restaurant Week India. Some of the restaurants of the 28 participating this year include Hakkasan, Two One Two Bar & Grill, San Qi at the Four Seasons, Koh by Ian Kittichai at Intercontinental and Ellipsis in Colaba.

While last year, all the dishes on the prix-fixe menu were especially created for the Restaurant Week, this time there will be a balance. “A lot of people want to try out signature dishes that are on the menus at these places, but aren’t available at such good prices, so they deserve to be able to do that. That is why we’ve maintained some of those creations and added some special ones,” says Shetye, adding that each course will have four options for vegetarians and non-vegetarians each.
