A Maulvi was on Monday sentenced to death by a local court for murdering a 15-year-old student, who was learning Urdu from him.

Stating that it was rarest of the rare case, Additional district judge S J Sheth announced the judgement in Vadodara after examining 15 witnesses from both the sides, public prosecutor Jayprakash Bhatt said.
Four others who have arrested in connection with this case have been awarded six-month imprisonment each, Bhatt said.
Abidali was killed using a knife at his residence on December 17, 2007 by his teacher Narul Haque Saiyed Maulvi after the boy’s father Asgarali failed to pay him a sum of Rs 7,000.
