Delhi continues to reel under intense cold

Capital continued to be under the grip of intense winter chill with minimum temperature at 5.2 degree Celsius.

Capital continued to be under the grip of intense winter chill with the miniumum temperature recorded at 5.2 degree Celsius, a day after the city experienced the coldest day of the season.

There was no fog and the morning sky was clear, much to the delight of passengers who were planning the New Year weekend out of the capital.

The air traffic at the Indira Gandhi International Airport was normal as the Runway Visibility Range was 2100 meters, an airport spokesman said.

"There no cancellation or diversion of flights due to fog," the spokesman said.

The weatherman has predicted that similar weather condition will continue with temperature remaining at around five degree Celsius. On Friday the minimum temperature was 5.0 degree Celsius, two notches below the normal.

Some trains were running behind schedule as other parts of northern region witnessed fog in the morning.
