A Romanian at heart, an actor by choice and a passionate chef, is how you define Chef Andrea Golino. But how could an actor and a television personality transform into a chef?
“My first tasty meal was the bottle of excessive milk a nurse gave me when I was born. Later, I treated my parents to experimental breakfasts every Sunday morning,” says Golino.
On his fourth visit to India, Golino stopped by the Capital for a quick food break. When he spoke with HT City, his love for India was loud and clear. He said, “Once I had to train members in a Delhi Restaurant for a gala Italian dinner I was hosting and got a chance to work with Chef Saby and his team. During those two days, I learnt a lot from them.”
Golino’s love for the Indian dish, butter chicken, is obvious. “I had two kilos of butter chicken and took two days to digest it. This was last year, but that’s what I love”, he adds.
The chef’s believes in exploring recipes of different cultures and has not checked out any Italian fine dining restaurant in Delhi. Some of his other favourite Indian dishes are dal bukhara, naan and dal makhni.
