He dismissed the finding that the demolition was meticulously planned.

“There was no provocation or plan to destroy the Babri Masjid. It happened all of a sudden, it was a spontaneous act.”

Virtually exonerating the BJP, he said the structure (of the Masjid) was very weak as such and as soon as few people got into it, it collapsed. “It happened not because of the activists of a particular party but activists belonging to all parties. They were very much overcome by emotion,” he added.

He added that none of the top BJP leaders, including Vajpayee, were involved.
