Addressing a ‘Janata Darbar’ at Dubey Talab on Sunday, Singh said a proposal had also been submitted to the Prime Minister and the Heavy Industry Minister to merge the BPCL with the ONGC and the Hindustan Cables with the Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited.

The work orders have also been arranged to keep these companies in running condition during the completion of merger formalities.

All efforts were made to restore the industrial status of Naini, he said. “It has also been planned to open a primary health centre in Arail and a primary school in Chaktej,” he added.

Singh said the workers were the real strength of any party. Workers should listen to the problems of the general public and take action to solve them.
“There was also a need to ensure wide publicity of different policies and schemes of the UP Government. The government, under the leadership of Mulayam Singh Yadav, has worked for the benefit of every section of society.

As many as 750 criminals were killed in encounters, but still the Opposition parties raised a hue and cry about the law and order situation in the State,” he added.

Also present at the meeting were Gama Pandey, Bhola Nath Gupta, Ajay Bhartiya, Vinay Kushwaha and Abdul Razir.

Singh also visited late senior journalist Radheyshyam Patel’s residence to express his condolence.
