Success has many fathers but failure has none, the adage appeared to fit aptly to the BJP with the party's central office wearing a deserted look after its debacle in Himachal Pradesh polls.

As journalists waited at the party office for leaders' comments on the party's performance in the Himachal Pradesh elections, there appeared to be no sign of any of them.
Party President M Venkaiah Naidu was busy with a meeting with Jharkhand Chief Minister Babulal Marandi who is facing rebellion from allies Samata Party and Janata Dal (U).
Other party leaders were busy visiting TV channels and as a party worker said, those leaders who were to come gave the excuse of the upcoming India-Pakistan cricket clash at the World Cup in South Africa or some other pressing engagements.
However, the BJP central office was swarming with men in uniform who were sanitising the place for the office bearers' meeting slated for Sunday to review the party's electoral performance, which is to be attended by Deputy Prime Minister L K Advani.
