In-form wicketkeeper-batsman Mahendra Singh Dhoni was on Wednesday rested for the seventh and final one-dayer which will also see Rahul Dravid return to take reins from the struggling Virender Sehwag.

Tamil Nadu's Dinesh Kaarthick has been roped in to the Indian squad to don the keeper's mantle in the absence of Dhoni, BCCI Secretary Niranjan Shah said in a press release.

Dravid, who was rested for two matches after India gained an unassailable 4-0 lead in the series, will return to lead the side in Indore, venue of the last match against England to be held on April 15.

The Bangalore batsman will replace Mumbai paceman Ajit Agarkar in the squad.

"Rahul Dravid is replacing Ajit Agarkar. The selection committee has also decided to rest Dhoni and bring in Dinesh Kaarthick in his place," Shah said in the release.

In keeping with the team management's policy to give rest to players as and when possible, pace spearhead Irfan Pathan was rested for the sixth match today in Jameshdpur.
